Internet Marketing Strategies – How to Create Website? Part 2

In the previous post of  “How to Create Website Part 1“, I’ve covered the benefits of owning  paid hosting websites rather than the free one. In this post, I’ll gonna explain the procedures for you to create your own money-making sites in a step-by-step manner as part of your Internet marketing strategies. Having cool and professional websites to increase your offline or internet marketing business visibility is one of the powerful Internet marketing strategies.

Without further ado, let us dive into how to create your own website or blog. In this case, I’ll focus on telling you how to build  WordPress websites. As I’ve mentioned in previous post, WordPress is hands down the most powerful blogging platform I’ve seen which is able to achieve tremendous results in terms of search engine rankings.

Step 1: Get a Domain Name

Domain name is used to identify IP address in your web hosting server.

Let’s think in a simple manner. After you have paid a web hosting company, you are allowed to “rent” a space in their server and put your website (your web documents) in the server space.

Of course, you will be given the address of the server space. The address is called IP address which is in number format and pretty hard to remember.

Now, how can the visitors visit your website?
They can choose to key in the IP address into their web browsers so that they can see your website on their browsers.

The problem is that the IP address is very difficult to remember (for instance: 192.34.XX.XX).  Furthermore, it is almost impossible to tell one website from another just from the IP addresses.

So, that is the reason why you need to get an easy-to-remember domain name and link the domain name to your web server IP addresses.

Every time web users type in URL which contains the domain names into browsers, a system called DNS (Domain Name System) will translate the domain name into IP address so that the requests can be sent to the desired web server space to pull out the website documents from the server to users web browser.

Http://www.yourbrand.com is a URL (Uniform Resource Locator) and yourbrand.com is the domain name.

Now, having understood the fundamental basics of how web hosting server and domain works, it’s time to go ahead to get your own domain name and web hosting server.

In the market, there a quite a number of domain registrars. The two that I use most are www.godaddy.com and www.namecheap.com. Just key in the domain name which you want to register and follow the instructions to purchase it. It’s quite self-explanatory.

Step 2: Get a Web Hosting Server

For Web hosting company, I strongly recommend www.hostgator.com as so far I really have nothing to complain about. The Live Chat service is simply amazing as I always got my problem solved almost instantly.

If you’re planning to own more than one website, I suggest you to take the “Baby Plan” as it allows you to add on unlimited domain names to your web hosting server. And one more thing! Remember to go over to Hostgator Coupon to obtain a coupon code for discounted price!

After you are done creating your Hostgator account, you should receive the names of your name servers from Hostgator  (Hostgator will email to you once the purchase is done). You should get 2 name servers and they should look in this format: xxxxx.hostgator.com. Copy down these name servers and you’ll need to use them in the following steps.

Step 3: Inform Your Domain Registrar (Godday, Namecheap…)  the Server Address (Name Servers)

Let’s say you’ve purchased your domain name from Godaddy. What you’ll need to do is go back to Godaddy website and log in to your account and choose the “manage domain” option and click on the “NameServers” button and change the existing preset nameservers to  the nameservers obtained from Hostgator.

By doing this, you inform Godaddy to direct the domain name to your Hostgator server address (nameserver) whenever people type in the URL (www.yourbrand.com) consisting your domain name (yourbrand.com).

Step 4: Install WordPress

Once the Nameservers change has taken effect, you can go ahead to Hostgator and log on to Cpanel.

On the Cpanel, the first thing I recommend you to do is to set up an email account for your domain. It is very easy. You can just click on the “Email Account” Icon.

After setting up your email account, you can then move on to install wordpress onto your domain. On the Cpanel, you can just scroll down to the bottom and you will see a cute smiling face that says “Fantastico De Luxe”.

Internet Marketing Strategies – How to Create Website? Part 1

Creating a website or blog is no longer a difficult task nowadays. No matter you are an online marketer who want to includes website promotion as one of your internet marketing strategies or  a traditional offline business person, making your own website that is able to market your business to more prospects is a must-have business plan.

You might be looking for ways of how to create a website for free. But, my advice to you is to build websites that are paid-hosting.

Why? Although creating websites or blog that are free is easier than the paid hosting one  and the most attractive part is that you don’t need to pay for owning a website, there are a couple of drawbacks for owning  free websites which is responsible for your business marketing.

Here are the top 6 drawbacks for creating free websites:

1) All different free web hosting accounts registered by free users are gathered in one single server which can significantly slow down the websites.

2) Free hosting accounts normally have lower bandwidths and smaller disk spaces than paid hosting ones. When the web traffic (number of visitors) is high, your free websites go slow or even down.

3) You can not get your own domain name. Typically, you have to use the sub-domain name. Instead of www.yourbrand.com, you’ll get something like www.yourbrand.freewebabc.com which is totally not professional!

4) You can annoy your site visitors by ads! In most cases, you are forced to display banner ads on your website. Sometimes, the ads is totally unrelated to your site theme or topic and this is VERY unprofessional!

5) Free websites are not as SEO (Search Engine Optimization) friendly as paid hosting website!

6) Lastly, you’ll lose out on many SEO benefits for having free hosting website due to the fact that you are not able to use many powerful thrid-party plugins.

If you can afford to pay web hosting company for less than 10 bucks monthly and a domain name fee for less than 10 bucks a year, I recommend you to get a paid hosting website as you will have more features and controls. It’s really well worth the small investment.

Based on my personal experience, paid hosting like WordPress is the best choice as Google and many search engines are always giving much preference and credit to wordpress sites because of it’s SEO-friendly features.

One last benefit for having a paid hosting website is that no one can ever take down your website except yourself!

If you are ready to generate tremendously high amount of visitors to your sites, I strongly recommend you to get the paid hosting service.

Creating websites is really not a difficult task as many of the website creation platforms in the market now are really very user-friendly. Personally, I fancy WordPress a lot as almost 100% of my websites are WordPress-based. And most importantly, they are able to rank perfectly on search engines for many profitable keywords compared to those free websites.

So in How to Create Website Part 2, I’ll show you a step-by-step blueprint of how to create website or blog with powerful WordPress as easy as ABC. Remember, creating a website to market your business is hands down one of the most powerful internet marketing techniques.

When they see your title, they’re engaged and will want to find out more.

2. Incorporate Exact Figures or Numbers in Your Title: By doing this, the article will look more genuine. With increasing information overload nowsaday, people are very selective to content that they are reading through media. However, with some exact figures and numbers stated in your title, your article will be perceived to be more genuine and stand out from the crowd more easily. For example: “The Important Concept That Earned a College Dropout $5,264 a Month”

3. Embed Powerful Phrases in Your Title: This is to grab attention from your reader and increase click through rate. Some of the powerful phrases are “Secret”, “Discover”, “How to”, “Fast”, “Easy” & “Revealed”.

Implement the above mentioned article marketing tips and you’ll surely see some difference in your articles traffic…

Backlink Strategy #2 Article Marketing
I know article marketing is kind of back-breaking as it takes you lots of time to write and rewrite articles. Unarguably, the most tiring part of article marketing will be article submission.

To save time, many marketers tend to submit the same article to various article directories ignoring the risk of duplicate content disadvantage. In actuality, submitted duplicate articles can still be indexed and help build backlinks, but the quality of the backlinks will not be so valuable to Search engines.

If you want to build high quality article backlinks, you’ll have to submit different unique articles to various directories. By doing so, the backlinks will last long so do your site rankings.

With major algorithm change in early 2011, Google values sites with unique and original content, so it obviously implies that backlinks from unique articles have higher value. For more details, read Google blog here.

Now that you’ve learned that submitting unique articles to various directories is vitally important…

The problem is that it is very time consuming to come up with so many articles for submission. Well, many successful marketers use UAW to help them finish the article marketing tasks without breaking a sweat.

Some marketers who are with relatively tighter budget normally use their favorite article spinners to help them rewrite one original article to many new unique article and submit the unique articles by using free semi-automated submission software such as Article Submitter.

Personally, my favorite article spinner is The Best Spinner. I have made full use of this tool to rewrite countless of content and submit to various content directories and in turn built myself thousands of quality backlinks through various content submissions.

My backlink building projects would not have been so smooth and effective without The Best Spinner.

Backlink Strategy #3 Blog Commenting
When it comes to blog commenting, it may seem to be a boring job to many marketers because they find it hard to come up with good comments.

But, you must do this as it is a very important strategy that can help you build many quality backlinks by leaving comments at high PR blogs.

Backlink Strategy #4 Press Release Submission
In order to spread your backlinks all over the web like wild fire, you’ve got to try out press release submission.

Well, the idea is simple. You write a simple press release with backlinks pointing back to your website and submit it to various press release directories.

After submission, all you have to do is wait and see your backlinks spreading like crazy. Press release submission is one of the best ways to get your content syndicated fast.

These days, many autoblog softwares are hungry to grab content from press release directories. Once the autoblog softwares see your press release, they will republish it on their blogs with your backlinks intact.

In this way, you have your backlinks spread all over the web with different IP addresses. It will look natural to Google and many other search engines. They will just love your site very much and generously reward you with high search results rankings!

Just google online “free press release directories” and you can find many free directories for you to submit your press release to.

Backlink Strategy #5 Profile backlinks
Recently, profile backlink building is widely popular among internet marketers. It does have certain positive effect on search result rankings. However, in order to see significant result, the amount of profile backlinks is important.

Implementing these 5 strategies in your SEO effort and you’ll surely see the movement of your sites rankings. Include these backlink building method in your Internet marketing strategies can definitely take your website visibility to a whole new level.

How to Increase Your Search Engine Rankings? On-Page Factors

The methods employed to increase your search engine rankings may seem like rocket science to you, so you have probably avoided dealing with this issue. I am telling you that it’s time to face the fact.

A high Search Engine ranking for your website is so essential that if you have the slightest desire to actually succeed in your business, there is no way you can continue to avoid this issue.

At least 85% of people looking for goods and services on the Internet find websites through Search Engines. The idea of optimizing your pages for high Search Engine rankings is to attract targeted customers who will be more than likely to make a purchase to your site.

The higher your page comes up in Search Engine results, the greater the traffic that is directed to your website. That’s what Search Engine optimization is all about.

For search engine optimization, the first item you should examine is the domain name of on your website. Use your primary keyword as your domain name is the best choice. If the desired domain name is taken, add some prefix or suffix around the keyword. For example, keywordguide.com.

The second thing you have to look at is the title. The title bar is the one at the top of the page. Look at the words that appear there when you access your home page.

To increase Search Engine rankings, the words on your homepage’s title bar should include the most important keyword phrase. It’s the best to put the most important keyword phrase at the start of the title.

It is important to avoid very long strings of keywords, keeping them within 60 characters. Avoid repeating keywords more than once in the title bars, and make sure that identical words are not next to each other.

The next item that you’ll need to take a closer look is your website content.

Search Engines generally list sites that contain quality content rather than those with just fancy graphics. The text on your site must contain the most important keywords – the words that potential customers will be typing into Search Engines to find your site.

The amount of text is very important to search engines. So, try to have at least 300 words on each page, but if this is not possible due to your design, aim for at least 100 carefully chosen words. If you want to achieve a high ranking on Search Engines, quantity and quality of text is essential.

Next we come to what is called META tags. These days, many people still believe that META tags are the key to high Search Engine rankings, but in reality, they only have a limited effect. Still, it’s worth adding them in the event that a Search Engine will use META tags in their ranking formula.

To find out if your page is set up with META tags, you must access the code. To do this, click the “view” button on the browser menu bar, and select “page source.” This will pull up a window revealing the underlying code that created the page.

If there are META tags, they usually appear near the top of the window. For example, a META tag would read:

META name=”keywords” content=”keyword1, keyword2”

META name=”description” content=”Your meta description sentence with primary keyword interagted in”

These may not do much for your Search Engine rankings, but any little boost helps.

When it comes to keyword density, I do not give too much thought about it. To show to search engine crawlers that my content is optimized for specific keyword phrase, I like to put the keyword phrase at the start as well as at the end of the content because crawlers give more credit to the words at at the start and end. (Preferably the desired keyword is put at the start and end of the HTML content but not visual content)

Sprinkling some LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing) or related keywords within the content can strengthen the primary keyword in terms of ranking for the primary keyword. Note: For more about LSI keyword, read here.

LSI Keywords

Integrating primary and LSI keywords randomly into your articles /posts titles (H1/H2/..) can strengthen the primary keyword weigth for higher ranking as well.

Internet Marketing Plan – What Exactly are Keywords?

At the moment you’ve decided to start your own internet business, you’ll first want to understand clearly about how your potential customers use the Internet.  In particular, you’ll need to learn for what purpose exactly they use the Internet. Here comes the very important Internet marketing plan called keyword research. But, first let’s get to understand what exactly keywords are.

It would certainly be great for your company if every person who logged on was doing so because they had their credit cards in hand, and were looking to buy precisely the kinds of products and services you offer services.  But of course this isn’t the case.

Rather, most people use the Internet to get information.  That search for information often takes the form of trying to answer questions that these individuals have been unable to find answers for elsewhere.

So how do people tend to go about finding answers to their questions?  As you might guess, these days most Internet users tend to rely upon search engines like Google.  While most Internet users will have heard of (and probably used) at least one of these three search engines, there are also hundreds of other search engines available.  However, those other search engines generate far less traffic than the big three (Google alone dominates over 2/3 of the Internet search traffic), so we’ll focus our attention on the big ones.

As you probably know, a person uses a search engine like Google by typing a word or phrase into the search box.  This specific word or phrase is the key to your business success, because the word or phrase indicates exactly what that person is looking for.

Let’s say, for example, that the individual is interested in losing weight.  If they type the phrase weight loss into Google, the search results page will provide two things, paid and organic search results.

The listing of the results displayed are called organic search results.  This means that the Google search engine determined these web pages to be most naturally (or organically related to the phrase weight loss.  The phrase weight loss is what we refer to as a keyword term.  You can see the importance of the keyword term by the fact that the phrase weight loss is highlighted throughout both the organic search results and the paid search results.

In order to maximize your business opportunities, you’ll need to research and identify the terms and phrases that potential customers will use when they look for the kinds of products and services you’ve selling. Keyword research is a very important Internet marketing plan that can differentiate between a successful or failed Internet marketing business.

How To Avoid the Top 3 Mistakes in Affiliate Marketing

It’s no doubt that affiliate marketing is one of the most possible ways of making real cash online. As long as you’re willing to put in effort, you’re able to make some cash out of it. So, there are a growing number of people who are passionately including affiliate marketing into their Internet Marketing business.

Having said that affiliate marketing is lucrative, there are still some traps in the business. Making some major mistakes can harm or even ruin your entire affiliate business.

So, it’s absolutely necessary to know them prior to starting an profitable affiliate marketing business…

Mistake number #1: Wrong Product Selection

Many people desperately want to earn some fast cash with affiliate marketing. As a result, they just go and choose some products with high commission payout to promote without considering the selling ability of the products.

High commission doesn’t means that you can earn more. If the selling ability and demand of a specific product is strong, you can earn cool cash even though the commission payout is low. Let’s say for example, there are actually many people earning massive cash by promoting just some low commission Amazon products…

Just Pick a product that meets the selling ability requirements and you’re okay to go… Check out my post of  “How to Choose Profitable Products to Promote“.

Mistake number #2: Focusing on Too Many Affiliate Programs

As you know, affiliate programs are really easy to sign up for. So, you might think that it’s fine to join many affiliate networks / programs to increase and diversify your earning streams.

It seems to be a great way to have multiple income sources, right? In fact, it’s not really true. Joining too many affiliate programs will make you lose your focus and result in earning the minimum for each affiliate program.

It’s always advised to stick to one affiliate program in the beginning. After you’ve earned some steady cash, then you can start to go for other streams of affiliate income by joining other affiliate programs.

Mistake number #3: Promoting Without Having Purchased the Product

The major job of an affiliate is to recommend a product to potential customers. If you know nothing about the product, how can you promote it to readers convincingly?

If you don’t want to purchase the product, you can send an email to the product owner and ask for a review copy. Try to list down your plan of how to promote their product like a mini business proposal.

For example, you can say that you have a large group of targeted Twitter followers and have been able to make nice affiliate sales in the past, you have large Facebook Fanpage fans, you’ll promote it intensively by article marketing, you’ll set up a search engine optimized site to promote etc… Just use your imagination to show your sincerity and “perceived” marketing ability. In this way, many of the convinced product owners are more than willing to pass you a review copy…

In short, knowing what you plan to do prior to going about the affiliate marketing business is important. Don’t start without a plan!

Online Business Ideas – Top 3 Affiliate Marketing Success Factors

If you are planning to start an Internet marketing business and looking for online business ideas, You might have some questions in mind…

What does it take to become a super affiliate marketer?  Is there any fast track to achieving affiliate marketing success?  What are the right Internet marketing strategies to take in order to save me loads of time from doing the things that simply don’t work? It’s okay… I’ll get you covered…

Although many think that affiliate marketing is one of the easiest and most effective home business ideas to make money online, it is not as simple as it sounds… In actual fact, you need to have a sound plan before getting into any affiliate marketing campaign.

You should also maximize the potential profit by having some necessary factors  in your affiliate marketing efforts as well… Below you can see the top three necessary factors for running a successful Internet marketing business in affiliate marketing…

Factor #1: Your Preselling Website

No doubt, the most powerful weapon in Internet marketing business is your own website. First of all, you need to build a professional website. Your website is the starting  point of all your marketing efforts.

You must first build a user-friendly website that will seems attractive to your visitors and entice them to click on the links to the products and services you are promoting and make a purchase. Hence, it’s important that you must understand what your potential customers need and what their major problems are. Your website will serve as a pre-selling website that triggers their buying emotions before reaching the merchant’s site…

Plus, you’ll need to make your website full of  relevant and useful content. People will love content  that are helpful. Not only high quality content can satisfy your readers, it can also help in obtaining high search engine rankings. Just think from your prospect’s point of view and give the information that they are dying to get… In this way, you can engage the readers and establish yourself as an expert in the field.

Factor #2: Free Gifts

You can take your affiliate marketing business to the next level if you implement email marketing in your effort. I can’t stress this enough: “Money is in the list”…

Competition is extremely fierce in some of the niches, so you must always be a few steps ahead of your rivals to ensure that you capture a significant share of your target market. Therefore, you must use every possible methods to drive prospects to your websites that point to the products and services you are promoting.

Building an opt-in email list is one of the best ways to gather prospects. Offering a free gift (can be a report, video or a piece of software) of high quality can entice visitors to subscribe for your email list and you can subsequently promote the products to them via emails.

Factor #3: Traffic

Without traffic, all your efforts are worthless. Not only you want traffic driven to your website, you want laser targeted traffic…

There are basically 2 major ways to drive traffic to your site… They are paid and free traffic…

Paid Traffic: PPC (Pay per Click). Social Media Ads etc…

Free Traffic: SEO, Article Marketing, Video Marketing, Forum Marketing, Social Media Marketing, Blog Posts etc…

I would recommend free traffic generation methods to newbies or marketers who have less budget…

Now, I have covered 3 important factors that I think every affiliate marketer should have for running a successful Internet marketing business in affiliate marketing… Do fell free to share your views guys :)

Internet Marketing Strategies – The Importance of Article Marketing

When it comes to ways to drive massive targeted traffic to your websites, article marketing is undoubtedly one of the most powerful Internet marketing strategies.

Basically, article marketing is about writing and submitting articles to various directories.

However, It doesn’t stop there. Thousands of hungry publishers are actually looking for related content for them to put up on their blogs. So, your articles can in turn be published all over the web with backlinks pointing back to your web pages.

People are normally allowed to publish your articles on their sites as long as they don’t modify the content (including links) of the articles.

Not only massive traffic can be driven to your web pages through the clicking through from the articles, the backlinks you can get from article marketing can boost your search engine rankings for targeted keywords.

Article writing is not a difficult task if you know the “tricks”. After an article creation, you can submit it to article directories either manually or automatically.

By far, Ezinearticles.com is the most reputable article directories due to their stringent acceptance and audit of article submission.

Recently, people are saying that article marketing is not as powerful as before when it comes to SEO benefit due to the reason that search engines are ignoring majority of the articles for the duplicate content issue.

Some are even saying that duplicate articles will not be indexed by search engines and as a result, the backlinks built will not be followed.

It’s not really so…

Well, in fact, duplicate articles on the web will not be penalized. They will still be indexed but the fact is that the quality and value will be less for SEO concern.

Recent 2011 update of Google’s algorithm (farmer / panda update) has also indicated the importance of unique content on the web in terms of organic search rankings…

So, to have maximum article backlink power in terms of search engine rankings, it’s vitally important to submit unique articles with diversified backlink anchor texts.

Article marketing is still powerful. It’s just the matter of how you implement it… Implementing is as one of your Internet marketing strategies can make take your Internet marketing business to the next level.

How to Choose Profitable Products to Promote

In this post, I’m gonna talk about how to choose a profitable product to promote in order to pocket good affiliate commission.

As an affiliate, you don’t have to own a product to run an affiliate marketing business. Yep, this is the greatest benefit to be an affiliate.  Affiliate marketing is all about referring visitors to merchants sales pages and earn commissions whenever visitors buy the products from the sales pages.

Now, the first step is to find the right product to promote. You can actually choose to promote either physical or digital products.

Well, for physical product, I’d recommend promoting Amazon products. There are literally many kinds of physical products from Amazon that you can choose to promote.

The best way to find the most lucrative Amazon products is to check out the customer reviews. The more positive reviews a particular product has, the more lucrative it is.

However, there is one major “downside” for promoting physical products which  is that the commission payouts are normally not that high.

It’s absolutely alright to promote some physical products but in order for you to maximize your affiliate income, you’ve got to check out the digital products.

Promoting digital products usually gives you higher commission payouts. Sellers of digital products are usually willing to pay you over 50% of the sales as commissions.

Personally, I prefer Clickbank products to other affiliate networks. Why? One of the major reasons I like Clickbank is that it provides all necessary parameters & stats for you to determine and judge whether a particular product is selling well.

In order to understand how well a product is selling, you’ll want to check out the gravity parameter of the product. The higher the gravity, the more affiliates have made sales through the product. Yep, you want to promote products that are already selling like hot cake!

My personal preference is to choose products with gravity value higher than 80. Sometimes, it is a bit hard to find products which are having gravity higher than 80 in some markets. In this case, my very minimum benchmark is 50. Anything goes below gravity of  50 is not within my consideration at all.

I prefer new products to old ones particularly in the markets that are moving fast. For example, let’s say internet marketing niche, the information is updating pretty darn fast.

Choosing newer internet marketing products is always getting better competitive advantage than the old ones. But really, choosing old or new products is totally depending on the nature of the market. For instance, niche like dating is usually time-independent.

The sales pitch of the products is very important as well. Just visit the sales copy page of the product and read through the sales page. Just read the copy from the point of view of a potential buyer. If the sales letter can convince you and the testimonials look genuine and convincing also, the product can probably sell well.

Lastly, what you’ll want to consider is the commission payout structure of a particular product. The higher the commission is obviously the better choice. Choosing products which are giving you commission over 50% is okay to go.

Promoting products which are giving you recurring commissions is also a good choice as you’ll earn consistent commissions in the future.

Any thought? Comments are welcome guys… :)
